Business Green Week has rolled along once again, and our team at Stripe OLT have been channelling their inner Kermit all week! We have put together a a programme of activities in both offices to think about our environmental impact and consider ways to cut costs and reduce carbon emissions:
Monday: Think Global – Big Issues… Big Impact… Create change… Turn the office green!
We prompted our staff to come up with at least one idea on how we can reduce our environmental impact. Additionally, to start the weekend off appreciating our employees, everyone was greeted with a surprise plant on their desk Monday morning.
Tuesday: Act Local – Looking at our immediate environment.
We supported our local community by sourcing a locally produced lunch.
Wednesday: Low Impact Day – It’s all about the ‘off switch’.
We switched off all our lights, air-con, gave the printer a day off and worked all day utilising natural light.
Thursday: Commuter Challenge – Let’s ditch our cars!
We encouraged everyone to cycle or walk into work, or if they could to work from the comfort of their kitchen tables – no video calls in PJs though!
Friday: Feel Good Friday – The last day of the week is all about having a good time.
We scheduled an office-wide jog or run scheduled in Bristol at 12.30; and because feeling good is not all about health and fitness we will finish the day with a pint at the Grain Barge / City of York – again supporting the local community.
