How does it work?

  • Moving to the cloud means using a cloud provider for part or all of the technology you use to run your business, instead of purchasing and managing it yourself. The cloud provider stores your data securely and provides you with software applications to access it via the internet.
  • You can use cloud services for backup, disaster recovery, data storage, to run business applications and much more.
  • There are a number of large providers of cloud services including Microsoft, Google and Adobe, and a plethora of smaller companies offering more specific services. 
  • Software available through the cloud ranges from standard business tools such as email and office suites to industry specific tools such as recruitment databases or CRM systems, or more complex development platforms.

How do I move to the cloud?

  • Moving to cloud based services can be carried out with minimal disruption. 
  • We work with you to identify services that would be better delivered using cloud solutions – one common example is email. 
  • We plan and prepare for the change in parallel with your normal working practice, for example helping users to reduce their mailbox size through archiving. 
  • The final cutover is scheduled for a time convenient to you and your business – usually overnight, or at a weekend.

What does it cost?

Cloud services vary in price depending on which service you purchase. Office365, Microsoft’s flagship cloud infrastructure, costs between £8-£14 per user depending on which software applications you select. There are excellent deals available for charitable or educational establishments.

The cost of a migration project depends on:

  • Complexity of distribution groups, mailbox rules and permissions
